More information about Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank: The Akron-Canton   Regional Foodbank is the largest charitable response to hunger relief in its eight-county service territory, and is one of 200 member food banks of the national Feeding America network. For every $1 donation received, the foodbank can provide 4 nutritious meals to individuals in our community through their partnership with nearly 500 area hunger centers and programs. As many as 263,200 unique individuals rely on food from the foodbank for support each year.

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP ME DONATE 4,000 MEALS TO THE LOCAL FOODBANK!


WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

This is a personal fundraiser project to benefit Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. I am hoping to cook 70 orders of authentic Thai food at $15 per order.

If you don't want an authentic Thai meal and just want to donate, that's awesome too! 

100% of money raised from this campaign will go directly to the food bank. I will cover the cost of food myself. 


WHY?

I was briefly involved with school lunch program before the outbreak, and I actually have my 40th birthday bash planned at the Akron Foodbank where I was going to invite friends to meet me and put in volunteer hours on Saturdays in July. But with the way things are looking right now, the original plan is most likely going to be cancelled.

However, hope to help others is not cancelled.

I am blessed to have the support I need during this tough time. I am fortunate to have a roof over my head and to always have food on the table for my children. 

So I want to give back to the families in need. 


HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Obviously, I am asking for donation in denomination of $15.

You will receive an authentic Thai meal(s) from me per every $15 donated. I am going to refer to them as "pre-order meal".

Menu and delivery dates will be determined as soon as the quarantine is lifted.

Here is a break down for your donation: 

$1 donated = 4 meals for Food Bank Recipient

$15 donation = 1 Nat meal for you + 60 meals for Food Bank Families

1 Nat meal for you = 60 meals for family in need.

There is no limit. You may pre-order as many as you want. I am hoping to have 67 orders put in, which equal to 4,020 meals!





RISK AND CHALLENGES:

My main concern is the fact that I do not know when I will be able to set up exact dates for delivery. But I do not want to wait until things are back to "normal" to get this campaign going. 

So if you know me, please trust that I will deliver your meal(s) as soon as I can plan to cook and deliver them safely. 

I know this is crazy. I know not everyone can give right now. But I still want to give it a try and hope that I can still bring this big dream to life. 

I do not expect to reach my goal overnight but I sure hope that together, we will be able to donate 4,000 meals to the family in need, by the end of July.
