Amani House
“If you build it, they will come.”
There is a special place in Kenya called the Rift Valley. Here, at over 2000m elevation,
humans, over the centuries, have developed incredible cardiovascular capacity. Within the
Rift Valley, lies a town called Iten. At 2300m, it is known as “The Home of Champions” for
the countless number of world-class runners that it produces on an annual basis.
At AMANI, we want Iten to become “The Home of [Cycling] Champions”.
It was Sule’s dream to build a permanent, world-class cycling facility right in the Mecca for
endurance running. He wanted to give the kids of his home region the opportunity he never
had – to be discovered, equipped and trained at an early age so as to have a chance to
reach the highest echelons of the sport.
Enter the AMANI House.
The AMANI House is our most ambitious venture to date and represents a generational
investment in the future of the sport in East Africa. We’ve leveraged our social capital and accumulated resources to commence construction on a facility that we hope will facilitate the discovery and rise of the East African version of
Marianna Vos or Tadej Pogacar.
We’ve bought the land, we are completing the athlete housing, VeloSolutions has built the
pump track…
But we need help to finish the job.
We are calling on cyclists, fans, the industry – anyone who would like to see our beautiful
sport become more accessible to those outside of Europe and the West. We are calling on
you to help us pave the path to the future. For those that answer the call know this - 100% of your contribution will go into the bricks
and mortar of the House – no international development graft here.
Timu Moja in Swahili means “One Team”. Join the team that aims to usher in the 2.0 version
of the sport.
