You can make a difference by donating today to the American Association of Single Parents to support our Free~N~Deed Market. AASP’s Free~N~Deed Market is a lifeline for members of the Dolton, IL community and those who live in surrounding areas. Specifically, this food pantry distributes food and invests in the nutritional health of community members by offering health and nutrition presentations. We plan to expand that health and nutrition component through cooking demonstrations and classes that focus on overall nutritional health.
As a food pantry, the Free~N~Deed Market intends to ensure that every participant has dignity in their “shopping” experience. We realize that food insecurity is a problem that far too many families face in our country, especially in the South Suburban region of Chicago. No family should experience shame, embarrassment or judgment simply because they do not have the resources to adequately supply food for their households. These are unprecedented times, and more families may have to experience food insecurity in the coming months, thus creating a necessity to access more food options in their community.
