Mark Barone is an artist and has a charity called An Act Of Dog. He is on a mission to complete 5500 paintings to represent the 5500 dogs killed every day in shelters across the United States. As an artist, Mark's intention is to put the soul back into the animals that have been lost and ensure the rest have a second chance at a beautiful life. With the money raised to support his charity, 100% of the funds are donated to the salvation of shelter animals. 

After a recent snow storm, 1000 of the completed paintings were damaged by water. Mark will now have to re-paint hundreds all over again. He had only five paintings left to finish from the 5500. Mark stated on his facebook page: “I want to cry and give up, but that would be giving up on the animals and that I won't do, no matter how hard this is.”
