Animal Mission

Back in 2015, an awesome group of volunteers donated enough Kuranda beds to provide one for every kennel on adoption row at the City of Columbia Animal Shelter. After five years of 24/7 use, they've all been repaired numerous times, and sadly most of them are nearly to the point of requiring total replacement. We're hoping you can help us replace these much-needed beds for these sweet dogs as they wait for their next home.

Kuranda shelter beds aren't cheap. But they're just about the only product that can withstand the intense use of the shelter environment, since these dogs literally live on these beds all day, every day. The beds have a guaranteed chew-proof design and can hold up to 250lbs. The fabric is scratch-proof and can be easily sanitized and disinfected, which is critical in preventing dangerous diseases like parvo and canine distemper. And these beds also provide a safe and comfortable sleeping environment, which greatly reduces the dogs' stress and anxiety levels in the shelter setting.





We're hoping to cover the cost of replacing 30 of these beds. If you'd like to donate an entire bed ($99), thank you! We have a page set up at the Kuranda website here  where you can purchase one to be shipped to the shelter directly. 


But we know that's a lot, and that's why we have this GoFundMe. A donation of any amount here will make a difference, and with enough $5, $10, and $20 donations, we hope we'll have these puppies sleeping on brand new beds in no time at all. And because of our non-profit status, we are able to purchase these beds at a very significant discount directly through Kuranda when purchased in bulk (30 or more), so a contribution here will stretch even further. Every dollar donated through this fundraiser will be used for the purpose of purchasing these beds. Any additional funds will be used to purchase replacement parts (corner brackets, fabrics, legs) to keep this investment  going strong for many years to come.
