LAST DITCH DOGS - saving dogs from immediate euthanasia

The euthanasia crisis of adoptable dogs continues! Shelters, rescues and fosters are out of room to take more animals and so the poor dogs are euthanized due only to lack of space.

Arcadia Animal Rescue, with the help of Last Ditch Dogs, is working to build a climate controlled building that will simulate a home environment to extend the time for adoptable dogs while foster to adopt homes are found! We hope to turn this land into a sanctuary in the future. No donation is too small to save these sentient lives.

Our other goals focus on preventing the issue at its source - deliberate and not deliberate breeding. We are working to send a van to high euthanasia counties to spay animals for free.

Quigley was hit by a car and his leg and pelvis were shattered. Treatment and recovery totaled about $6000.

Rudolph was found abandoned and starving. He was close to death. His bowels were obstructed from obstipation believed to be caused by chicken bones he found. His full treatment was about $3000.

Gunner was rescued with rectal prolapse. He needed 2 surgeries which cost $3000 total.

King required his eye to be removed and also needed heartworm treatment. This totaled about $2000.

Della had an injured front leg that became atrophied and unusable. This needed to be amputated and the expense was about $2000.

Sophia had old injuries to a front leg that resulted in deformity that required amputation. This was about $2000.

Molly and her 9 newborn puppies were dumped in the community. They needed urgent treatment for respiratory infections, vaccines, and deworming, in addition to ongoing puppy healthcare. Their expenses have been about $1000 thus far.

I'm just a gamer who works with nonprofit rescues to save animals, doing whatever it takes to help them thrive. This Giving Tuesday I am streaming for Arcadia Animal Rescue

Arcadia has been the saving grace for many animals that face the cruelty of the world. Arcadia serves as a no-rejection rescue; their mission to put the animals' needs first really speaks to me. But this work isn't easy, and the extreme financial strain is affecting the volunteers' resources to efficiently do their jobs at Arcadia. I linked the organization to the fund, all donations go to directly Arcadia. I also added a recent post made by Arcadia.

Even if it’s just a few dollars, PLEASE consider us today when making your #GivingTuesday donations. We are desperately in need of funds to not only provide for the 100+ animals currently in our care, but as many of you know, we are carrying huge amounts of debt to vet’s offices and boarding facilities, many of whom are small mom-and-pop establishments that extended a hand to help us save these precious souls who were about to lose their lives, and now they too are hurting because we owe them money.

Our only income right now is adoption fees (which rarely come close to covering actual expenses) and adoptions are slow everywhere. Like most rescues, we receive no federal funding or grants whatsoever. Yet, we always try to find a way to save dogs and cats facing imminent euthanasia and the expenses are astronomical. When others say “no”, we very rarely do because we believe in miracles and trust that the community and fellow animal lovers will come alongside us and partner with us to make it happen - which is how we end up with over 100 animals in the rescue at any given time. But as a result, we are in *major financial crisis* and desperately need help.

Since we are volunteers, every single penny of every dollar donated goes directly to the care of the animals in the rescue. So, truly every dollar counts *immensely*.

Life-Saving Surgeries and Care to Save Ruby!
Ruby, an incredible 8-year-old dog, was surrendered to a North Carolina kill shelter by her previous owners, who sought euthanasia to avoid dealing with her medical conditions. Our rescue organization stepped in to save her, and she is now in the care of a temporary foster. However, we urgently need your assistance to cover her medical expenses and give her the chance at a new lease on life.

Despite the abandonment and neglect she has experienced, Ruby's spirit remains unbroken. She has shown remarkable resilience and loving nature that touches the hearts of everyone she meets. But to ensure she can continue living the life she so deserves, we must address her pressing medical needs.

Ruby requires immediate medical attention to address several urgent issues. She has multiple small tumors that need to be surgically removed to prevent them from developing into full-blown cancer. Additionally, she requires a tail amputation due to a painful condition, and her significant hair loss may be attributed to Cushing's disease, which requires further testing and treatment.

To provide Ruby with the comprehensive care she needs, we must raise at least $2400, which is the discounted price provided by our trusted veterinary partners. These funds will cover the tumor removal surgeries, tail amputation, and the crucial Cushing's test and treatment. We ask for your generous support to help us give Ruby a chance at a healthy and happy life.
