Celebrate 30 Years of Asian American Women Artists
OUR STORY
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, we're raising money to benefit Asian American Women Artists Association (AAWAA), the nation's longest running Asian American women's arts nonprofit whose mission is to advance the visibility and recognition of Asian American women in the arts.
Since 1989, AAWAA has grown from a close-knit artists collective to an established nonprofit with a growing artist membership that has nurtured the careers of San Francisco Bay Area artists as well as curators and arts leaders by promoting the presence of Asian American women in exhibitions, media, publications, public programs, and academia. We're launching this campaign to ensure AAWAA can provide its services to the community for 30 more years and beyond.
YOUR IMPACT
Your donation will contribute to the development, launch and maintenance of our new website and will ensure that our site will be accessible to the public and easy to use for our intergenerational members. Currently, ours is the only website that documents Asian American women artists and their art. We want the site to be an accessible resource and portal for educators, academics, researchers, arts and social justice communities and the general public. In its current form it also contains a directory of members, including a diverse array of interdisciplinary artists, writers, educators and supporters.
Current Costs:
-Development + Maintenance of Website = ~$18,000.
-Domain + Hosting Plans = ~$1,115.

THE TEAM
This campaign is led by AAWAA staff, board, and our intrepid volunteers/interns. Individually we are artists, arts administrators, curators, mothers, tech workers, and art lovers. But together, we're a team fundraising for AAWAA because we are passionate about its mission and impact on the San Francisco arts scene and greater Asian American community. For us, this is our home and we want others to share in a place where they feel encouraged, inspired, and empowered too.
