Dear Friends and Family,

We have been overwhelmed with generosity since we announced our engagement. Loved ones will know that we are passionate about expanding access and support to the underprivileged. Thus, in lieu of wedding gifts, we would would like to raise funds to support pandemic relief in India, which has been devastated by the second wave of Covid-19.

We are raising money to benefit Association for India's Development Inc, a grassroots Non Government Organization (NGO) in India (https://aidindia.org/). Any donation will make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

More information about Association for India's Development Inc: Association for India's Development, Inc. is a volunteer movement that promotes sustainable, equitable, and just development in India by generating awareness about poverty, development, and related issues, and supporting programs to alleviate these issues. AID provides grants and support to organizations in India, and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as agriculture, energy, education, health, livelihoods, natural resources, women's empowerment, and social justice.

India needs our help! As the Pittsburgh Student Branch of AID, our hope is to raise as much money as we can in order to help beat this horrific second wave of COVID-19 that is currently devastating India.  On April 24, 2021, India registered close to 350,000 daily detections, and nearly 2,800 daily deaths. These are not just numbers but real people with real families who need our help. We are currently collaborating with the National Rural Health Mission, Maharastra, to help them procure Oxygen Generation Plants and Concentrators. Join us in our urgent effort to save lives. For those of you who are following India's devastating Covid surge and would like to help out:

These numbers are startling and the news is scary! We are three students (Archita Khaire, Siddhant Shelar and Jayvik Joshi) who want to help. With the hospital systems overwhelmed and doctors facing a shortage of medical supplies, India needs donations towards medical equipment (oxygen, medicine, hospital beds) and essentials like food and shelter. The proceeds of this fundraiser would go to AidIndia . They also share the reports of all their work on the website. Once the funds are entered in their system, a receipt will be sent to the donor's registered email id, before the next year's tax filing. The funds will be used towards efforts in the categories below:

1. Medical Equipment and Essential Medicines

2. Food, Cash, and Livelihood Support to Distressed Families

To give a perspective: USD 500 helps to buy an oxygen concentrator and USD 200 supports around 20-30 people in a community with food and oximeters.

This years project is to AID the Farmers, your donation to Agriculture and Farmers Welfare funds will support the childern and familes of farmers across India , through sustainable low-input organic farming , reclamation of degraded land , struggle with land rights and campaign for governement policies that migrate farmers distress .

" WE CAN help ensure that every child has the opportunity for a bright future and no one sleeps hungry, that farmers can earn a dignified livelihood, that everyone has an opportunity to earn a fair living wage without discriminatory barriers, and that  development is equitable and sustainable."
