Donate to Austin Pets Alive Medical Chip-ins!
Hello! We are Simply da Banana Brains, a fifth-grade Destination Imagination team from Eanes I.S.D. in Austin, Texas! In Destination Imagination (DI), students from around the world work together in teams to solve open-ended STEAM challenges designed to teach the creative process. This year, we chose the Service Learning Challenge which is designed to engage students in public service that addresses real-life community issues.

We chose to help homeless dogs and cats with medical needs at Austin Pets Alive. Austin Pets Alive is special because they take in homeless pets from other shelters that are the toughest to get adopted. If you have ever seen the APA website, you might have noticed many ways to give, but we have learned that medical chip-ins are one of the most important ways to help.

So far, our team has raised over $2,050 through a school event, a bake sale in our local park, and this gofundme site. These funds helped a puppy named Lipgloss with parvo treatment, a puppy named Davina with bloodwork, and finally, a cat named Theo with liver abnormalities. Next, our goal is to reach $1,500 on this site to fund additional medical treatments.

Thank you so much for supporting our DI team and Austin Pets Alive. Your dollars will go to helping save animals in our community most at risk of euthanasia.

$25 - Provides one week of milk for a litter of kittens.

$50 - Provides vaccination for a litter of puppies.

$100 - Provides basic medical care for one cat or dog.

$500 - Provides basic medical care for a litter of puppies or kittens.

$1,000 - Provides a kennel that shelters 13 dogs per year.

About Austin Pets Alive!: To promote and provide the resources, education and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals. Austin Pets Alive! provides for the animals they care for and is one of the very few no kill shelters in Texas. They provide many resources and items that is needed to take care of a stray for free. APA! states that "Through hardship we have found inspiration and through this inspiration we have saved lives."

Austin Pets Alive! also has many programs that are dedicated to helping animals such as:

P.A.S.S program which provide resources and services to residents who are experiencing challenges with their pets!

Barn Cat Program which is designated to help a specific population of cats - those who are not comfortable in a home setting - but would make pets for owners who have a need for pest control!

We have come together to raise funds and save the lives of vulnerable homeless pets. We are supporting Austin Pets Alive! to save the lives of cats and dogs in need.

Help us raise funds to support APA! provide shelter, food, and medical care. Raise funds with us to help and care of the loving cats and dogs at Austin Pets Alive!

COVID-19. The unprecedented force that shook the world.

From the largest companies to just one person, everyone has been affected by the coronavirus. Whether that's through job losses, fear of the virus, or mental health, everyone is struggling. Along those lines, Austin Pets Alive has had its own fair share of troubles. With a huge decrease in volunteers, APA is doing their best to fill all those important roles in-house, but even so, the amount of work these amazing people have taken upon themselves is enormous. APA has saved so many lives, having brought Austin's animal save-rate from 13% to 97% and is an organization that helps make Austin the special place that it is.

I hope that you can find it in your heart to help this amazing organization keep helping so many animals around them, and in the process, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps to help their communities.

My name is Caroline Schram and I am a veterinarian living in San Francisco, California. Desperately wanting to help the animals affected by Hurricane Harvey, my technician, Michelle Chung, and I are travelling to Katy, Texas next week. We will be volunteering to help the animal rescue efforts of a group called Austin Pets Alive. We are planning on bringing many needed veterinary supplies and medications with us - they are running out of items quickly and are unable to keep up with the needs of the animals. Any monetary donations to help cover our costs would be greatly appreciated.

Sabbatical Beauty is partening with Bad Tags to help raise money in order to aid the rescue efforts of Austin Pets Alive. This organization has already saved the lives of 400 animals affected by Hurricane Harvey and helped coordinate rescue efforts to save the animals at the flooded shelter of Tall Tails.

Both Bad Tags and Sabbatical Beauty will MATCH every donation up to $500 dollars. So we raise $500 dollars, BT and SB will each donate $500 bringing the total donation to $1500!

Wait, there's more! For every $5.00 you donate, you will be entered to win a $100 visa gift card PLUS other drool-worthy goodies for both you and your pet from both companies!

All the money raised will be donated to Austin Pets Alive which is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping promote and provide the resources, education and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals. BT and SB are not affiliated with APA and we are not taking any money from this fundraiser.

Rescue, saving animals, and helping others is a core belief at both BT and SB. With so many asking "how can I help" this is our way to coordinate efforts to help save the fur victims of those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
