Short Update: 06/16/2021. So far we have have a great season, great turn out, great movies and great bands. The 1st week was rainout, but we had terrific weather last week. Here is an update concerning the NonProfit Charity that is the Bay Jammin Jammin Series Inc. 1st things 1st, I want to thank all of you who have donated this season and the seasons before, much appreciated. The Bay Jammin Series is only funded via donations, yes we are a non profit charity.Through your generosity we have received $3,275.00 to date via Go Fund Me for this 2021 summer season of the 31st Annual Bay Jammin Concert & Cinema Series. Small and large donations totaling 150+. We could sure use your help, we have a ways to go. Just $1.00 per show 11 movies + 11 Concerts = $22.00. Wow if we received $22.00 from everyone that attends we would have more then enough funding for this year and the necessary seed money for 2022. Please GIVE...Big or small, it all adds up. To begin let us first express our sincere hope that you, your family, friends and neighbors are well and in good health. We have had a very difficult 2020 and the Polar Vortex Winter Storm we had in February  2021 was brutal.  Now it is time to enjoy our beautiful city and bayfront. 

IMPORTANT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: THE 31st ANNUAL BAY JAMMIN CONCERT & CINEMA SERIES - 2021 IS BACK.   

BUT WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. AS YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE, THE BAY JAMMIN SERIES (BJS) IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN A NON PROFIT ENTITY.  WE HAVE EXISTED THESE 30 YEARS THROUGH THE GENEROUS DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS FROM BOTH OUR LOCAL BUSINESS COMMUNITY & THE MANY PEOPLE WE CALL OUR NEIGHBORS. IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT.  



YES, WE NEED YOUR HELP.  You can make a donation of $5, 10, 20, 30, 50, or $100.00, Yes or even more. Large or small donations, it all hels. 

WHY? Well the shows, both the music and the movies are not free, they all come with a price attached. Bay Jammin Series is a Nonprofit...we need your support.



The capability to raise the necessary donations to pay for the Bay Jammin Series expenses: musicians, sound and lighting technicians, movie licensing, printing, advertisement and trash pickup. This  series is truly a private and public sector collaboration. The series expenses come solely from the private sponsorship donations by our generous local businesses and individual community citizens. The city generously and graciously supply the Bay Jammin Series with location, logistics, support staff, utilities and security. That is the beauty of the series, truly a private sector and public sector collaboration , and has been for 30 years.

Okay: What now?  Plan for the Bay Jammin Concert & Cinema Series 2021 Season, the New 31st.  So we had a hiccup, 2020 season did not happen.

We had to do the same in  2011 for the City Bond work that remodeled the Anderson Amphitheater, the park grounds, fishing pier and so much more.  We came back a year later in 2012, better then ever. We can do it again with your needed help.

I guess you're wondering, well how can I as a member of the Corpus Christi Community help out. Well gee whiz, you certainly can. Think of all of those years that you, your family, friends, neighbors and out of town guests have attended the Bay Jammin Concert & Cinema Series at the easily accessible, comfortable, and beautiful Cole Park Anderson Amphitheater looking over our gorgeous Corpus Christi bay front and downtown cityscape.



Our request is that you can also help we a part of the 31st season.. As you are aware the vast majority of our sponsors are local businesses, most are in the food, beverage and entertainment industry. Needless to say they all have had a very difficult time in 2020 and 2021  due to Covid-19 and the Polar Vortex. These terrific small businesses listed on our past seasons' posters and hung on the stage walls these many years have always supported the Bay Jammin Series and the Corpus Christi Community. So please support the Bay Jammin Concert & Cinema Series and our local Corpus Christi Businesses. I know these have been difficult times for all of us, but maybe you can Give a Little for a Lot of Reward. Think of it as a small overdue fee or a gift to the future. 

For all of these seasons Past, Present & Future, Free Family Fun = All Kinds of Entertainment for All Kinds of People. Who would have believed that a conversation over lunch at Cantina Santa Fe in 1989 would result in 30 years of free, quality entertainment for the whole family? Since that time, the Bay Jammin Concert and Cinema Series has been a FREE nonprofit event serving Corpus Christi with family friendly music and movies. 


 
But it can only happen with your continued support, as we depend on donations for our success. 
 
We have set up this GoFundMe link so individuals and businesses may donate directly to our Bay Jammin Series Inc , a nonprofit account set up to fund the Bay Jammin Series over these many seasons. Once we have ample funding in our BJS account we will begin the budget process of booking bands and selecting movies.



So what is the Bay Jammin Concert & Cinema Series? Okay here is the history.

Background

The Bay Jammin Concert & Cinema Series has always been co-hosted and co-sponsored by the City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department and J2 Productions, and held at the Cole Park Anderson Amphitheater. We receive vital support from local businesses and individuals that graciously sponsor the series with donations to our Bay Jammin Series Inc / PALS Fund.

Over the last 30 years, Bay Jammin has: (since 1989). The Spec's
Entertained nearly 500,000+ people (that's nearly a 1/2 million) at a cost of less than $0.80 cents per person per show.
Presented over 100 bands of all genres playing 300+ concerts, and over 100+ movies.
Cost on average less than $17,000 per year.



The funds we raise pay for five main areas: band sound and lights, and movie DVDs, music, movie licensing, and printing. There are NO administrative costs. That is a heck of a lot entertainment for every dollar spent.

These free Thursday night concerts and Friday night movies are excellent family entertainment that our community and visitors have grown to expect and enjoy over these many seasons. If you are looking for value and quality of life for our Corpus Christi community, the Bay Jammin Series is definitely it.



Cole Park Anderson Amphitheater

The Cole Park Anderson Amphitheater is the perfect setting for this type of family entertainment. Visitors to the park can enjoy the free entertainment while overlooking beautiful Corpus Christi bay and our vibrant city skyscape. What a great way to entertain our citizenry while also promoting the city to visitors and tourists. 

Cole Park’s amphitheater, facilities, "Kids Place," pier, and surrounding landscape have been upgraded both physically and aesthetically to heighten the experience of everyone attending concerts, movies, children’s activities, and all manner of recreation.

IF EVERYONE HERE DONATED $1.00 per SHOW, FOR EVERY SHOW THAT THEY ATTENDED.....WE WOULD BE WELL ON OUR WAY. I NEED THE DONATIONS NOW.

2021 Bay Jammin Series

The 2021 Bay Jammin Concert & Cinema Series will once again be held at Cole Park Amphitheater under the stars on the Corpus Christi bay front. This is FREE for everyone to enjoy, so bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic dinners, and enjoy this wonderful family entertainment. 

The Bay Jammin CONCERT Series is held every Thursday, June to August, from 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm and showcases a different musical group each week. Performances are live and all genres of music are celebrated—from rock, blues, funk, soul, Latin, jazz, salsa, adult contemporary, alternative rock, reggae, calypso, merengue, Top 40, club, and party music. Locally and regionally, Bay Jammin supports live music by hiring bands and artists from all across the State of Texas and parts of the USA. “All Kinds of Music for All Kinds of People.”



We have also held special shows too. Most recently we offered  the Special 3 Hours of Peace and Music Tribute to the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock  "3 Days of Peace & Music" Aug 15, 1969 – Aug 18, 1969 and 30th Anniversary of the Bay Jammin Concert Series; ; Christmas in July Event offering the Movie Frozen, with snow machine and Santa too; Special Labor Day Weekend Rock'n Reggae Show; Special Memorial Day Weekend Movie Night;  Special Fall Classic with the Del Mar College Classical Music Orchestra, Special Christmas & Holiday Season movie showing .

The Bay Jammin’ CINEMA Series is held every Friday, June to August, beginning at dark. Since 2003, the Cinema Series has offered movie genres ranging from animation, comedy, drama, romance, adventure, science fiction, action, fantasy, and more. All films are family-friendly and closed captioned. “All Kinds of Entertainment for All Kinds of People!”

 
This series, which is always FREE, would not be possible without the vital and sustaining support we have received from our local businesses and people like you. That you have graciously sponsored and supported us over these many seasons is a testament to the community’s resolve to support arts and entertainment for everyone.
