Help us "Keep the Music Live!"
We are starting a Future Fund program to benefit the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra Inc., Beaufort Symphony Youth Orchestra and Prodigy Project to "Keep the Music Live!" in Beaufort, South Carolina.
In a typical year, donations represent 55% of the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra (BSO) budget. The remainder comes predominantly from ticket sales. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to suspend ticket sales until it is safe again to present symphonic performances to the Beaufort community. Donations help us financially to prepare for programming once things open up again. In addition, they provide positive, confirmatory evidence of support for and the value of the BSO; support that improves morale and builds confidence during this time of uncertainty.
- The Beaufort Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1986 with 14 musicians. Today, the Orchestra is a full symphonic orchestra with more than 50 musicians and offers a broad repertoire of classical, light classical, Broadway and Hollywood music. We want to increase the audience by increasing awareness of the symphony, lowering ticket prices and adding performance opportunities.
- The Beaufort Symphony Youth Orchestra began in 1999. Today the BSYO is diverse with young people from grades 5 to 12 and consists of public, private and home-schooled students, who come from Beaufort, Bluffton and Savannah. We want to increase opportunities for young musicians through scholarships and travel grants to music classes, private lessons and music summer camps.
- The Prodigy Project was established to provide young classical-musician superstars with the opportunity to perform for their first time professionally with a Symphony Orchestra. We want to increase the capacity of the Prodigy Project to bring young musicians from all over the world.
Any donation will have a tremendous impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us and the communities that surround Beaufort.
Please help us "Keep the Music Live!" and promote appreciation of the Arts through musical performances as well as providing education and performance opportunities for young musicians.
