Help our park shine again! We are in the final stages of our campaign for the renovation of Contee Parago Park . We are in the process of restoring and renewing this historic meetingplace in the heart of Baltimore City for the 21st century.
Founded in 1971, Contee-Parago Triangle Park was named after two Black Bolton Hill residents, Edward William Parago, Sr. (1898-1983) and William Gailes Contee (1891-1987), for their contributions as "good neighbors."
The park has a striking, mid-century modern design that has been updated with conservation features and a new planting plan that includes over 70% native species to help pollinators and other urban wildlife. We want to recreate a peaceful, cooperative space full of life and color.
Our community partners and renovation team have spent countless hours writing grants, organizing resources and aligning available local talent to desired outcomes and deliverables to ensure our goal of a thoroughly renewed park. Thus far we have applied for over $50,000 in grant funding and have so far received in excess of $25,000.
We seek $5,000 USD to make up the remaining funding needed to complete the park restoration. We feel that with love and support from our Baltimore City counterparts near and far we can realize our goals!
Due to COVID, the park dedication originally set for May 15, 2021 has been postponed to May 2022. Our goal is to have a beautiful, renewed park to celebrate at the 50th Anniversary celebration!
