Boys & Girls Club Strength through FIT Endowment
For the 8+ years we have been in business, we have supported local charities, particularly local charities that are heavily involved in giving the money or goods back to the community they serve.
I believe one of those organizations is Boys & Girls Club of Dane County. Michael Johnson and his team have continually elevated the reach of the club and the impact it is having on our underserved community in Dane County.
As a result of numerous recent events of racism, hate and violence, it is clear that the impact hasn’t reached far enough yet.
We need the up and coming generations of black and brown youth to feel empowered to lead, and I know that confidence and strength enhance leadership qualities. Along with a mindset of continuous improvement, confidence and strength form the cornerstones for our ADAPT program.
Our discussions as a FIT team have centered around not just putting out a rally cry in the moment but instead focusing on doing something that can support the black and brown youth in the Dane County region for years to come.
Thus, with the guidance of Michael Johnson, we have a simple mission: raise $20,000 in 2020. In doing so, it will provide 1-2 athletes from the Boys & Girls Club who would otherwise financially not have the ability to do so to train in our ADAPT program EVERY YEAR for perpetuity!
Additionally, we plan on helping develop ongoing education and programming guidelines so ALL those utilizing the B&GC locations can take full advantage of the fitness facilities on site.
Seeing the next generation of B&GC youth come out of the program not only college ready from an educational standpoint but also entrenched in the fun and ongoing challenge of staying fit IS the mission. And we hope you can help support the cause!
