Oahu Summer Adventures
Want to join me in making a difference for the young men of Oahu?
The Boys to Men Mentoring program of Hawaii has expanded to 7 schools on the island of Oahu. During the school year we sit in weekly circles with the 100 boys in our program where we play, bond, eat, and discuss the mysterious and often confusing aspects of becoming and being a man.
It is now summertime and for the first time we want to create connective summertime experiences for our boys and volunteer mentors. Being the newest, but biggest population in Hawaii means our expansion takes new money.
We want these boys to be exposed to new experiences and have some serious fun for the summer! Research shows how neural networks develop through new experiences, play and deep connection. At this phase of development it’s vital to support these boys in this way. Making these memories and imprints of healthy masculinity that will last a lifetime!
An all-schools event of hiking, circling, games and food...pizza and movie nights for each group are the visions. Van rentals, food, games, staffing and supplies are some of costs we are funding. We are raising money specifically to make these outings possible.
