Support Immigrant Mother and Son
The 9 year-old child, A.R., and his mother, W.R., were forcibly separated by the federal government at the U.S. border immediately after they surrendered themselves requesting life-saving refuge in the United States.
The federal government created a maze of bureaucratic and legal hurdles to separate mother from child. After being separated from her child, the government would not even tell the mother his whereabouts or immigration case number. The government probed her religious beliefs and practices. She was fingerprinted -- along with every other person in her home. An intrusive home visit was conducted to determine if she was fit to parent her own child.
This punishing administrative process unfolded simultaneously with a pitched battle in federal court.
This new American family urgently needs your support. They desperately need food, clothing, transportation, and money to pay rent.
