Brighton Sister Cities Inc

Brighton Sister Cities of Brighton, Colorado, is seeking donations to fund our many activities supporting our exchange of educational opportunities, shared cultural exchanges and support for our sister city in Ziebice, Poland. Brighton and Ziebice have had a long history of student and adult cultural exchanges and mutual support of our cities. Over the years, we have sent dozens of children and adults from Brighton to Ziebice to learn more about this town, and they have sent delegations here to learn more about our city. We have shared information; helped fund initiatives in Ziebice, like helping to provide hospital equipment for their city; and developed life-long friendships and partnerships between the two cities. Dollars donated can help offset travel costs, entries to educational and historical sites and opportunities to attend important cultural offerings in Ziebice and Brighton.

Currently, the people in Ziebice, Poland, are housing more than 180 women and children from Ukraine - some in private homes but most in dormitory-style housing. High school students and residents cleaned out and repurposed an old vacant high school building. Local townspeople have donated time, talent and materials to improve the plumbing and electrical, procure donated beds and other furniture, and tend to the needs of the displaced people. They provide food, personal hygiene supplies, medicines, diapers, transportation, help with documents, and more. Families in our sister city have opened their arms wide and unselfishly to help the foreigners in their midst, welcoming them as friends.

Brighton Sister Cities has already made one generous donation to the Ziebice Janine Society, their branch of Sister Cities, and is looking toward our supporters to help us. Brighton Sister Cities is gathering funds to keep all our cultural and educational programs funded while also assisting the people of Ziebice as they meet the basic needs of these refugees.
