Brownsburg Band March To Macy's 2021 Fund
This is a very exciting time for the Sound of Brownsburg Marching Band. While the band program has been strong for quite some time, recently the band has set even higher goals for themselves and are working very hard to achieve them.
This band, which consists of more than 200 students, competes in Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) and Bands of America events, entertains at high school football games, and has made numerous appearances in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade and at Disney World. Recent honors include:
2016 ISSMA State Finalist – 7th place, first trip to the finals since 2002, and first time ever advancing to the finals as a Class A band
2016 Bands of America (Indianapolis, IN) Super Regional Finalist – 11th place and one of only 14 finalists out of more than 50 bands
2017 ISSMA State Finalist – 8th place
2016 and 2018 Best Communities for Music – Brownsburg Schools awarded this honor by the National Association of Music Merchants
2018 Bands of America (Bowling Green, OH) Regional Finalist – 2nd place

2019 Bands of America Grand National Championships Semi-Finalist – One of 38 semi-finalist bands out of 91. Based on the semi-finals scores, we placed 18th out of the 91 bands. This is an incredible achievement given the number of outstanding bands at this event.
2021 Bands of America Northwest Ohio Regional Champion - Received 1st place out of 18 bands from Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio. This was the band's first win at a BOA Regional competition.
2021 Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional Finalist - 6th place (our highest ever finish at a BOA Super Regional) and one of only 14 finalists out of more than 60 bands
Most recently, the Sound of Brownsburg was selected as one of only nine bands to march in the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Our students will not only be representing our community, but the entire state of Indiana. This is an incredible honor and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
Due to the costs associated with this trip, Brownsburg Band & Orchestra Parents, Inc. (BBOP) has established the M2M2021 Fund (March to Macy's 2021 Fund).
We have estimated the overall cost for transportation, room and board to exceed $300,000 (roughly $1600 per student). Our goal is to make sure money is never a reason for a child to miss out on something they passionately wish to pursue, and we desire that all Brownsburg High School band students have an opportunity to participate in this trip.
All money donated to the M2M2021 Fund will go directly to help offset student fees for this trip. Brownsburg Band & Orchestra Parents, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit, which allows all donations to be tax deductible.
Suggested Donation Levels:
$1600 - BBOP Full Trip Fee
$800 - BBOP Partial Trip Fee
$250 - BBOP Booster
$100 - BBOP Friend of the Program
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) recently named the Brownsburg Community School Corporation one of 13 school corporations in Indiana to be a Best Communities for Music Education. The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
Please consider helping us continue to build the strong music program in Brownsburg by donating to the March to Macy's 2021 Fund.
