For those that know me, you know I love to travel and experience new adventures. Starting on 23 Aug, I will be walking El Camino de Santiago, a 750km or so pilgrimage. I decided on this goal about a year ago and I thought it would be a fitting 70th Birthday present to myself.
Then, an idea came to me to make this a pilgrimage to STOMP OUT CANCER. I am going to be walking with my Camino shell (the sign of a pilgrim) and ribbons attached for all the cancers that have struck, and sometimes struck down, my friends and family. I have orange for leukemia, teal for ovarian, white for lung, light blue for prostate, purple for pancreatic, black for skin, peach for endometrial, pink for breast, gray for brain, white/burgundy for head and neck, and lavender for SURVIVOR.
I can put people's names with all these cancers, and I will on the ribbons I carry on this Pilgrimage.
Please support my walk with all proceeds going directly to the Cancer Research Institute whose stated mission is: "To save more lives by fueling the discovery and development of powerful immunotherapies for all types of cancer." They work worldwide to promote scientific research as the key to finding the answer to all forms of cancer. Their focus on the immune system has resulted in millions of lives saved worldwide, and with your help, promise to save the lives of millions more.
Thank you for your contribution. Linda
