This June 1, I will attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the fourth-highest summit of the world’s 7 Summits — and the world’s tallest freestanding mountain.
At first, the hike was a personal goal. However, after joining the Young Leadership Board of the Cancer Support Community of North Texas in January 2019, I wanted to give my personal goal a much deeper purpose — to raise as much money as possible in support of the Cancer Support Community of North Texas (CSCNT).
The CSCNT is a non-profit that supports the families of cancer patients by providing them with: Necessary education - bringing together Support groups (wellness groups, family & friends groups, post treatment groups, and living with loss groups) - and Networking groups (Breast cancer networking groups, metastatic cancer networking groups, lymphoma networking groups, teens connect, pretty n pink, ...) - etc. As you can imagine, positive psychological support is a major factor in the fight against cancer. This disease can break families apart. This disease cannot be avoided. For these reasons and many more, I hold this cause dear to my heart — and I want to do as much as I can to help fight it.
For that, I will need your help, too.
My goal is $19,341 — a dollar for every foot in the height of Mount Kilimanjaro. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will be of immeasurable value. 100 percent of your contribution will go DIRECTLY to the CSCNT and will benefit families in need — so that they can keep supporting their loved ones in their fight.
The mission of the Cancer Support Community of North Texas is to ensure that every person impacted by cancer is empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community. Its vision is that NO ONE SHOULD FACE CANCER ALONE.
