Dear Friends,
My name is Arjun Medhekar; I am a senior at Pacific Collegiate School in Santa Cruz, California.
I spent about ten days in Puerto Rico over spring break this year volunteering at Caras of the Americas, a 501(c)(3) organization,
(www.causapr.org) It was an eye-opening experience working alongside the social workers in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Puerto Rico. We worked on projects including micro-reforestation, clearing trails in local nature reserves, distributing food and clothing to the elderly and underserved, and helping clean houses and yards for those unable to take care of these tasks themselves.
It broke my heart to hear of the devastation caused by Hurricane Fiona, and I am committed to doing what I can to help the residents of Cataño and Guaynabo recover from this tragedy. Having seen firsthand how effectively Caras of the Americas serves those who live in these towns and their communities, I am confident your donations will be put to the best use and will make an impact. Please give what you can – your donations will mean the world to those affected by the storm and help them return to some semblance of everyday life.
