Save Zoey: Help Fund Her FIP Treatment
Hello fellow compassionate friends. If you made it this far, then you're so close to helping save the life of a brave little girl named Zoey.
My heart sank when I first found Zoey. I was investigating an injured cat and stumbled upon a colony of struggling felines. Zoey, only about 8 weeks old, was particularly frail, with a runny nose, eye discharge, and an emaciated frame. Her condition was dire, and it was clear she needed immediate help.
I took Zoey home, quarantined her, and began nursing her back to health. We initially thought she just had an upper respiratory infection. Despite my efforts and her initial improvement with antibiotics and eye ointment, her condition worsened, and her breathing became labored. Concerned, I took her to the ER and later to a vet for further tests. The SNAP test came back negative, and the vets didn’t notice anything alarming, so I continued to administer amoxicillin and eye ointment. However, Zoey’s difficulty breathing persisted, which explained her upper respiratory symptoms.
A rescue organization agreed to take her in, and I met them at their local animal hospital. Unfortunately, just hours later, I received devastating news: Zoey is suspected to have FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). This disease causes fluid buildup in the abdomen, swollen lymph nodes, and difficulty breathing. To help diagnose her condition more accurately, vets have started administering steroids to see how her body reacts and will continue to perform additional bloodwork.
The good news is that FIP is treatable, but the treatment is costly. It involves 84 days of medication, weekly blood tests, and a total expense of $4,000-$5,000. This financial burden is significant, but the treatment has a high success rate. Sadly, I can't cover this on my own and sadly I cannot buy her time until I'm ready.
I want to fight for her because she's such a brave little soul. She deserves so much love. Holding her in my arms and how comforted she felt is reason to fight for her life.
I am reaching out for your help to save Zoey. All funds raised will go directly to her care through "Caring About the Strays," a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to helping stray animals. Your contribution, no matter how small, will help cover the cost of her treatment and give her a chance at a healthy, happy life.
Thank you for your support
