Carolina Coastal Community Hurricane Relief Fund

As many of you know, Ira Key has been struggling with a heart condition for years, and recently developed a chronic cough. Ira is a local of Hope Town in Abaco.

We have had a few updates from his wife Tanny and daughter Lisa Key Hall.

At age 81, he is now facing a pending cancer diagnosis and their family NEEDS OUR HELP.

Dr. Boyce suggested Ira go to Florida on August 15 where he was admitted into the hospital because he would need to be temporarily off of his medications to do all of the necessary blood work, CAT & PET scans, and extensive testing. They found a mass in his right lung, which has been biopsied but inconclusive, so they are scheduling another biopsy on September 3 and a follow-up doctor’s visit on September 9. They are anticipating a cancer diagnoses, but can’t prescribe a treatment until they confirm the exact form of cancer.

Unfortunately, Ira does not have insurance.

As you can imagine, the doubled up cost for Florida AND Hope Town are adding up quickly.

They have been there for 6 weeks and expect to be there for at least another 2-3 weeks.

The financial burdens of the medical bills, Florida rentals and food are piling up, while they are still trying to manage Hope Town rebuilding costs, BPL and utility bills and rent in Hope Town because, like many others, their home was destroyed in Hurricane Dorian and they have not been able to return to their home for almost two years.

Dorian Relief

We are praying for those who have lost everything and who are injured and feeling helpless. Imagine losing your home, your job, your schools, your transportation, and/ or your neighbors all at once. This is the reality for so many. 

We are hopeful that everyone will be stronger because they survived hurricane Dorian.  Thank you for all of your support!

Being residents of NC and being witness to years of hurricane destruction.   We  started this Carolina Coastal Community to help those around us.  Last year we blessed many North Carolina residents with your donations.  Buying tarps, cleaning supplies, water, food, and more.  We were also able to bless the Children's Advocacy Center in Panama City with a $30,000 check to help them rebuild after hurricane Michael.  

 Now, we are watching the wrath of hurricane Dorian.    WE want to help a special place called the Bahamas and the beautiful people of Abaco who witnessed a hurricane 5.   We also see the destruction of Dorian making its way up the east coast.   So many people will need help.

We MUST rally together and ask for support from everyone.   Your support and donations will be used to bless the people in the hardest hit areas.  Funds will be used specifically for transportation, Go Fund me donations for families in need, and more!

"Carolina Coastal Community has teamed up with BahamaSpirit.com to help create monetary blessings this holiday season for the locals of Hope Town. So many of the people we love who drive our boats, cook our meals, sell our homes, manage our properties, rent our golf carts, drive our ferries, clean our homes, serve our drinks have lost so much.

Carolina Coastal Community, also known as 3C, located in the heart of North Carolina and was founded by second home owners of Elbow Cay, Jennifer and Brian Kinn. They fell in love with Hope Town a couple years ago, the uniqueness, the beauty of the island, and mostly the people of the island. They want to bless those who have blessed them.

Jen and Brian believe in the power of a team, they want to make this holiday magical for so many who lost everything. They reached out to Bahama Spirit and together want to make a difference. It's important that during difficult times we all join together and work together.

Bahama Spirit is compiled of several groups of families in the North/Central Florida area who have been visiting the Bahamas since the 1960s. After realizing the devastation that came after Hurricane Dorian, they wanted to have a way to directly help the friends and families who we have become close with throughout the years. With all this passion from 3C and Bahama Spirit, how could we all not work together? We ask you to help us make a difference.

Our mission in this project is accept your donations either through Paypal or Go Fund Me. For each donation, we ask you leave a note of who you are donating to. 3C will compile a total for each family and each donation received. Then, at Christmas, there will be a list of checks given out to those who received donations. We are looking for small to large donations. Right now those locals who have lost everything need funding, love, and support. This is a great way to help us make a difference this holiday season.
