Cat Rescue Finding Cats Forever Companions
GOFUNDME STORY
*** 2024 Update****
Most of our cats along with other cats from other cat rescue organizations were supposed to go to a cat café concept, also known as a cat lounge, so that they could be showcased for adoption.
Unfortunately, the business owners were so close to crossing the finish line, but aren’t unable to do so due to unexpected situations that are preventing the opening of the new cat lounge.
We kindly ask if you or anyone you know could make donations to help the owners open the cat lounge so that our rescue and other cat rescues and place their cats in the lounge and open to the public!

CAT HAVEN RESCUE
+ Who Are We
We are a group of mothers, fathers, educators, animal lovers and artists that want to help our feline friends. We are Cat Haven Rescue. Cat Haven Rescue is a 501(c)3 organization (EIN 93-1879972), founded in May 2023 and officially recognized in June 2023.
+ Our Mission
Every day we see news, posts, and messages about cats roaming the streets, cats that need to be rehomed, cats that are starving, cats with disabilities, cats that were abandoned, and so many more issues that need to be addressed.
Our mission is to be the voice and advocate for these animals by educating the public, obtaining medical care, rehabilitating cats, reducing cat homelessness, reducing the rate of euthanasia, and protecting them from cruelty.
Is there a need for this? | “Houston, we have a problem.”
We sure do. Houston is facing an animal overpopulation problem. Also, it’s Houston— it’s HOT! The heat can mean two things: heat strokes or the procreation of more animals.
I am sure you have seen, or a person you know has seen, at least one cat roaming about. Roaming cats can mean that there are kittens in the area as well.
If you know anything about cats being in heat and pregnant cats, well then you know you can assume that the likelihood of an unspayed female cat roaming the streets is pregnant. That’s a lot of babies considering that cats are in heat (ready to start mating) about every 2-3 weeks from Spring to Fall. Cats are pregnant for about 2 months and birth about 4 kittens on average. Cats can start pregnancy as early as 4 months of age.
Let’s look at their environment when living outside. Cats are either dying from the heat or taking advantage of the long periods of warm weather in Texas to reproduce. Some cats are being taken off the streets, spayed/neutered and released back onto the streets, while others are being spayed/neutered just to be euthanized the next day or week. Not to mention the cats being intentionally abandoned on the streets. Cats surviving on the streets live 2-5 years, on average.
As we find safe homes and responsible companions for cats, we will be helping them live longer and ultimately happier. We as a community should recognize this issue, take action, collaborate with supporting groups, and help save the cats!
+ What do we do?
Our team helps cats receive medical care, rehabilitates them, and/or finds them fosters, and places them with their permanent companions. After receiving medical care and any other additional assistance that they may need, the cats that are not placed in fostering will be cared for in the cat lounge. Our lounge will serve as a temporary sanctuary and as an adoption center. Also, we provide educational resources and support for cat supporters and advocates. Remember, we are their leader; their voice. It’s important to educate ourselves and others to provide quality care/support.
+ Vision, Goal, & Purpose
Cat Haven Rescue is THE vision. Our vision is to create a network of leaders, helpers, volunteers, and advocates that will work together so that cats can have safe and loving homes, health care, companions, a long-lasting life, and infinite love.
We share knowledge on the fundamental care and training that keeps cats healthy and happy, and we help create special bonds between felines and humans.
Our Goals are (but, are not limited to):
Find cats forever companions
Reduce overpopulation
Reduce homelessness
Reduce euthanasia
Provide medical assistance
Rehabilitate (e.g. fostering, sanctuaries, training)
Educate the public about cats
Feed needy felines
Protect and Love all cats
We are happy to serve all cats: disabled, homeless (including homeless cats due to owner death), purposefully abandoned, surrendered, and any cats that are needing us. We share our passion for this work to build a community that is going to work towards making an impact.
