Catnip Acres Inc

Catnip Acres Rescue is a no-kill rescue, based out of Southwestern PA. Their mission is to provide a safe haven for cats in need, offering compassionate care and promoting their well-being through spaying, neutering, and adoption, with a commitment to ending euthanasia and promoting responsible pet ownership.

This organization is very dear to us as we have adopted several cats and donated over the years. When we first went to the rescue, my husband and I told Toni what our cat’s personality was and what we were looking for. Right off the bat, she knew the perfect cat for us. It was amazing how Toni can remember all their names and little personalities.

Toni, the President, recently found out that they had to vacate their current rescue location. They have been feverishly looking for a place that is affordable to care for the kitties but have had no luck. In addition to finding a new location, the rescue is struggling with food, litter and medical bills.

This morning at 5:20 am I got the dreaded phone call. The entire clinic burned down. All medications: gone. Equipment: gone. Traps: gone. We lost everything. Luckily, the only silver lining in this, no pets were inside at the time of the fire (thank god!!).

We have had obstacles before…but none like this. We are devastated and in shock. Carol has spent the last 35 years caring for the cats and dogs in Greene County. She has spayed/neutered over 50,000 cats and has found well over 50,000 cats homes. Carol does so much for this community and now we need more help than ever before to get our spay/neuter clinics, our TNR program, and our surgery clinics back up and running. We won’t give up this fight! Animals are our whole life and to watch every asset that helps us facilitate those animals burn up is heart wrenching.
