With the St. James Calderon Theater as its home, Celebrate St. James (whose mission is to bring the cultural arts to St. James and beyond) hopes to change the face of the Lake Avenue business district and revive its economy.
 
Celebrate St. James is ready to purchase the historic theatre and turn it into a cultural arts center for the community, with a small theatre, a recording studio, and classrooms, providing events for all ages including performing arts, historic recreations, silent movies, art, and music presentations, and more, while expanding the movie museum and art gallery. We cannot achieve this without YOUR CONTRIBUTION!!

Celebrate St. James has been busy providing community enrichment throughout its young life. This includes art walks, historical and cultural events, a movie museum, and art gallery, an “off” Broadway musical production, a sold-out gala, and raising the 200K funds necessary to build Celebrate Park in the heart of Lake Avenue!
 
We are asking you, those who will reap the benefits, to become benefactors and sponsors, to make a pledge to save the theatre, help it to live another day, and bring the cultural arts home to St. James once again. We were the “go-to-place” in the early 1900’s when vaudevillians lived and performed here. We can honor those friendly ghosts who continue to watch over us by using the legacy of this historic building to fulfill a prophecy – a prophecy to bring the community together through art, music, theatre, and our own glorious history
– in a building that is a precious part of our past.
