Help Us Open Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity’s Second ReStore!
Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity is growing — and so is the need for affordable housing in our community.
In July 2026, we will open our second Habitat ReStore at:
1400 US Route 302, Berlin, VT
Central Vermont Shopping Center (next to Mattress Firm)
This exciting expansion will allow us to increase support for affordable homeownership opportunities across Central Vermont while keeping thousands of reusable household items and building materials out of local landfills.
And don’t worry — our Waterbury ReStore is here to stay! Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the Waterbury location has been such a success that we have simply outgrown our current capacity. We now need:
- More room to receive donations
- Additional parking for customers and donors
- Expanded operations to meet growing demand
Most importantly, we need the ability to support the increasing number of homes we plan to build over the next five years.
Why This Matters
Every purchase and donation made at our ReStores directly supports Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity’s affordable homeownership program. ReStore proceeds provide critical unrestricted funding that helps us build safe, decent, and affordable homes for local families.
As construction costs continue to rise, these funds are more important than ever.
By helping us launch the Berlin ReStore, you are helping families in Central Vermont build stability, security, and a brighter future.
Our Goal
Opening a new ReStore is a major undertaking. We anticipate approximately $45,000 in startup costs to prepare the space, purchase equipment, and get the store ready to open.
Every dollar donated now helps reduce startup expenses so that ReStore proceeds can begin supporting affordable housing projects sooner.
Whether you give $10, $100, or simply share this campaign, you are helping us build homes, communities, and hope.
Volunteers Needed
We will also need many volunteers during both the setup phase and after the store opens. The ReStore is a fun, welcoming environment where volunteers make a real difference — and volunteers receive a 20% store discount!
