When Tavin was born, he suffered a bunch of seizures and was quickly admitted to the NICU. There, it was found, Tavin suffered a massive stroke to the major part of the left side of his brain. In October 2019, Tavin was diagnosed with hemiplegia and Cerebral Palsy. The journey of this diagnosis hasn’t been easy because the road ahead is unknown. Tavin excels and regresses often and struggles go up and down as he continues to grow. His muscles get weak and stiff and it makes it hard for him to keep up as much as he wants.
Tavin has been able to participate in therapy and see great doctors. He will soon get fitted for a leg brace and potentially start Botox treatments to help with his muscle stiffness. We have been blessed to be able to have these resources available to us and know everyone is not as fortunate as we have been so we want to start giving back!
Our goal is to start raising more awareness for CP and raise money to donate so that more research can be done, services and medical equipment can be provided for those who may not be able to access it, and maybe some day to find a cure!
To make this fundraiser more interesting.. if we can hit the $1,500 mark in 10 days, by March 25 (Nation Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day), we will both cut our hair and donate it to Wig’s for Kids!
Thank you all in advance for evening just taking the time to read this. Hoping to be able to put smiles on kids faces as big as Tavin’s!
