We are all in shock over the unfathomable passing of our beloved Dudu Habib of blessed memory. Dudu was a wonderful friend, village builder, and community leader. He was a pillar for so many people and a foundation in numerous organizations, leaving a lasting impact on thousands within our Jewish community and beyond. His work, his love of life, his spirit, energy, love of music, and most of all, his deep love for his family—especially his most precious son, Edo—will always stay with us.

Dudu dedicated his professional life to taking care of others in their most difficult moments. As a funeral director at Sinai Memorial, he compassionately supported families when their loved ones passed away, offering comfort and guidance during times of loss. His kindness and dedication to this sacred work touched countless lives and provided solace to so many in need.

Dudu left a path for us to walk in and inspired us all to continue giving to the community unconditionally. As his family navigates this unimaginable loss, we are coming together as a community to support them in their time of need.

A personal request from “Sunshine”:

For the last 11 month, Raz Tahan have been the widow of the late Rani Tahan who was

killed in the war in Gaza on November 18, 2023

Raz and Rani z”l have 4 beautiful children: Jonathan (9), Alon (7.5), Neta-Rachel (5) and Noa-Estella (2.5).

On October 8th, Tahan family was displaced from their home in Kibbutz “Sde Nechemyah” on the Northern border of Lebanon.

Rani served as a combat medic in the "Givati" Brigade.

During his reserve duty in 2003, there was an incident on the "Kissufim" route in Gaza where two of his best friends died in his hands, and it was impossible to save them. Unfortunately, Rani suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder from this event, which was discovered years later.

In 2021, Rani’s PTSD was recognized officially, and he was released from active reserve duty.

On October 7th 2023 Rani, without hesitation, went back to the battle field to defend Israel, his beloved country.

Imagine to do a Shiva with your 4 children when you are displaced.

And you can’t go back home.

Raz found a home at a Kibbutz -HaOgen, which is a short drive from her family.

Living on Kibbutz HaOgen gives them a little stability, support, and a bit of light during the deep darkness in our lives.

Rani z”l and Raz’s children have integrated socially into the Kibbutz and educational systems; they made new friends , they receive mental and emotional support they need, and they have some peace, routine, and stability.

By the end of 2024, they must evacuate the house given to them temporarily by the Kibbutz.

Let’s help them stay in the Kibbutz.

Raz words:

“I know my request is very big.

But this is the only thing I can do to secure the future of our children, give them a house, and give them an anchor.

This will help give our children as much of a normal childhood as possible, amid all the chaos they experience.

Rani and I are proud people, we always worked hard for our living and never asked for help.

Today reality is forcing me to ask for help.

I am asking for your help, good people.

Our Goal: Empowering Communities Amidst Crisis

Last Saturday, entire communities in Israel lost everything. Victims were evacuated from their homes after hours of horror, leaving everything behind. Many of their credit cards were stolen and used by Hamas to run up thousands in fraudulent charges. The cards were canceled, again leaving them without the means to begin the painful path to recovery. Understanding the immediate need for assistance, Navan and Chabad are working together to raise funds in hopes of empowering survivors to regain control of their lives.

Immediate Financial Relief

Early last week, Navan began giving 1200 shekels to every individual from the region affected by the tragedy. Knowing that our technology would allow us to be first on the ground to reach people with overwhelming need, we immediately dedicated $1.5 million of our own money to this effort. The money is being made available to them within seconds, and can be spent on the care and necessities they need.

Hands-on Support from Navan's Team

Our office in Israel immediately made this their primary mission. Our people spread across the country to meet face-to-face with the victims and created a command center that connected with leaders from the affected communities. At this moment, Navan employees are in the field, speaking directly with the affected individuals and delivering humanitarian aid. In addition to utilizing our technology to empower survivors, Navan is partnering with Chabad to facilitate charitable donations to further assist families and direct resources to those in need. In collaboration with Chabad, we’ve set up this account to help the people of Israel move forward.

Please note that the donations are facilitated and controlled by Chabad NP, proceeds will be used for the Israel Relief project.

A few days ago, Israel woke up to a horrible attack.

Horror that the mind can't imagine. Our hearts are beyond broken.

With the unimaginable grief comes the need to act. Fast.

We need to help our friends and family. Give them first aid. Provide them with clothes, and food, and a roof above their head.

Our power as a community is our way to help them start again, come up from the ruins, and rebuild their lives.

We will distribute the funds to families that lost their homes, families who lost their loved ones, Kibutzim that were destroyed and children in need of help. After every allocation of funds, we will write to everyone in our community to inform you what we donated and to whom. This way, we ensure the money goes directly to those who need it, and the funds will go straight from the "Go fund me" to Chabad special account to those in need.
