Having family from a third-world country, there's rarely discussion of our country without the worsening side of issues. Issues that not everyone faces, and those that many cannot overcome. Not without support.

Basic needs like food and shelter shouldn't depend on where you live, and especially water, coming directly from the very soil we plant and eat from. Though I'm one person, a larger impact can be set with all of us.

In all of communities, drinking water can be funded and provided, no matter the situation. And many families out there, including my own will be thankful for any support you can give.

It's not now or never, but there's never a more important time.

Hiiii! My name is Paige and I will be fundraising to help get clean water to everyone on earth! My church, The Belonging, brought Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity: Water, in to share his testimony this morning. I felt an extra tug on my heart during the service to raise money for this charity! I’m running my first marathon in 6 short weeks, and so decided to combine these two efforts. I want to focus the rest of my training for raising money to support clean water in Africa!! 100% of what is raised will be given to Charity: Water and 100% of that money will directly fund clean water projects! Let me introduce myself, my name is Monique.

I live a little life in the grand scheme of things. I am a wife of 27 years and a mother of two daughters. I am gratefully employed and in good health. I am not for need of anything really.

That is, except for a purpose.

You see, I am turning 50 years old in April of 2024. I started thinking about what I wanted to do for my 50th birthday. I mean it's a big one. People even refer to it as the "Big 5 0!"

Of course, I started thinking about a trip or a personal challenge, like hiking a fourteener, or even strong-arming my husband into throwing me a "surprise" party.

Truthfully, all of those things sound lovely but would they really mark and make my 50 trips around the sun worth it? No.

That is why I have decided that I want to donate my 50th birthday to something that will impact the world in a positive way. I want to take this opportunity to make my big dreams of helping others come true.

I just can't do it alone.

I know that things are hard right now and only getting harder. And if you are struggling as many of us are, I will gladly pray for you and help you in any way that I can.

But access to clean water means education, income and health - especially for women and kids.

Access to clean water gives communities more time to grow food, earn an income, and go to school -- all of which fight poverty.

Less time collecting water means more time in class. Clean water and proper toilets at school means teenage girls don’t have to stay home for a week out of every month.

Women and girls are responsible for water collection in 8 out of 10 households with water off premises.

When a community gets water, women and girls get their lives back. They start businesses, improve their homes, and take charge of their own futures.

Raffana Atiq, a beloved member of the Huntsville community, was a friend to everyone she met. Her kind and warm demeanor readily put anyone she encountered at ease. She had a particular affection towards children and children in turn loved her very much. Raffana was also an active member of the Huntsville Islamic Center and readily served in many capacities. Recently, Raffana passed away of breast cancer at only 34 years of age. She leaves a huge gap behind in the community and those that were blessed to know her miss her profoundly. We are seeking to build a well in her honor and we hope that you consider donating generously.
