Circle of Friends for the Dying

The mission of Circle of Friends for the Dying is most inspiring: to provide a safe, comfortable environment for people in the process of dying without our residents having to spend a single penny.

We have recently been gifted with a beautiful residence in Kingston, NY – not just a facility, but a home where experienced caregivers, trained volunteers, and hospice medical staff will care for those in their last months and days. Jim and Lisa’s Circle Home will be an oasis for people whose time is at an end – an abode where they can transition peacefully to whatever is next for them.

Currently, Circle Home is being renovated to make it as suitable as possible for our future residents. Our improvement efforts include making sure that all aspects of the residence comply with ADA standards and, more specifically, installing a home elevator for the safety and comfort of our residents and their visitors.

As you might imagine, these renovations are expensive. Circle of Friends for the Dying does not receive Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance reimbursements for our services. We are entirely funded by people like you. And that is why we have launched a GoFundMe campaign and are reaching out to you now.

Our GoFundMe campaign aims to raise the $100,000 we need to purchase a home elevator that will lift our future residents up to the second floor to two spacious bedrooms and a shared bathroom. This home improvement is necessary since many of them will no longer be able to walk. We ask for your support at this time to help us bring our vision to life.

For a moment, dear friend, imagine a community where dying and death are not painful, not hidden away, not relegated to a room in an institution. Imagine a warm and welcoming environment where our loved ones can live in peace in their final days. How amazing would that be!
