Save WGOT, Gainesville's Beloved Radio Station!
WGOT has been Gainesville's low-power community radio station for nearly 17 years. In that time, we've strived to be the source of progressive news and programming in Gainesville while also stepping in for the college radio station that Florida's largest college town never had. Now, the time has come for you in the Gainesville community to decide if this radio station is still a vital part of Hogtown. In today's eventful and contentious climate, much of which is propagated by commercial media, having an independent voice on the airwaves is now more important than ever before.
We're looking to fundraise an amount of funds by the end of December that will at least allow us to exist as a streaming entity, bringing you great independent programming as well as music and news programs from around the country hosted by the likes of Chuck D., Amy Goodman, Thom Hartmann, and many others. This will put WGOT in a healthy situation to continue broadcasting well into 2025.
Your important end-of-year contribution will serve as a sign that Gainesville still loves WGOT. Thanks for letting us stay a part of the Gainesville community.
Note: The Civic Media Center is WGOT's parent organization (low power community radio stations are run by nonprofit organizations), so they are the beneficiary listed. Therefore, your donations to this fundraiser are also tax deductible.
