The 2024 Pipes of Christmas Concert
Get into the Christmas spirit early this year by supporting a fundraising concert that celebrates Scottish and Celtic musicians, art, and culture in New York City, Boston, and Summit, NJ!
Now celebrating its 26th year, the Pipes of Christmas brings together musicians, soloists, and performers from across America and the UK for a stirring celebration of the Christmas season and the Celtic spirit.
This year we are thrilled to announce our first-ever performance at the historic landmark Old South Church in Boston, MA. The new performance joins our longstanding venues in New York City and Summit, New Jersey, as well as a global webcast broadcast over the Christmas holiday. This exciting milestone allows us to join Boston’s vibrant Celtic community, marking a new chapter in this long standing tradition.
The Pipes of Christmas is hosted by the Learned Kindred of Currie, a non-profit cultural and educational organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Celtic heritage and the arts.
As our primary fundraiser, the Pipes of Christmas ensures that we can continue our efforts to supporting the global Scottish community through initiatives like:
- Providing scholarships to deserving students
- Hosting the largest Tartan Day event in the world, Tartan Day on Ellis Island, which received 80,000 visitors in 2024 alone!
- Commissioning of new musical and cultural works
- The Learned Kindred of Currie Monuments Initiative, which helps erect and preserve new and existing to locations such as the Scottish Writers Museum and Bale nam Bàrd (the bard’s home) on the Island of South Uist
- Developing a cultural heritage center in Scotland (currently in preliminary stages)
Hosting this concert each year is a massive undertaking that includes significant upfront production costs. Your support for this GoFundMe allows us to cover our costs and reinvest as much of the concert’s proceeds as possible into our programming and outreach.
Would you please join our celebration by making a gift of any size to ensure the Pipes of Christmas’ success this year?
As our way of saying thanks for your generosity:

- Donors who give over $100 will also receive an all-new EP with digitally mastered tracks from the 2022 and 2023 concerts
- Donors who give over $300 will also receive recognition by name as Pipes of Christmas Patrons on our website, email newsletters, print and digital programs, and webcast

About the Pipes of Christmas:
The first Pipes of Christmas concert was held 26 years ago in 1999. Since that date, the event has grown considerably with a larger company and extended performance runs. In addition, the producers have frequently commissioned new music for bagpipes, clarsach (Scottish harp) and other instruments. Traditionally, part of the program is conducted in Gaelic. The concert proceeds have helped fund our extensive outreach and charitable programs.
Our reach is extensive: from "Tartan Day on Ellis Island", to Scotland's Royal National (Gaelic) Mód, to programs offered at the Gaelic College in Nova Scotia, to Glasgow's National Piping Centre and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The list is long.
The concert features the music of Christmas in a decidedly Celtic flair, with pipes and drums, harp and fiddle, cello and guitar and more! Best of all, it's not just a live concert — over the Christmas holidays (Dec. 20-31) we’ll stream a webcast of concert highlights to bring this festive celebration to an even wider worldwide audience.
