Clarkstown Family Resource Center Partnership Inc

To celebrate my 13th birthday and becoming a Bat Mitzvah, I wanted to do a Mitzvah project to help give back to my community. For my Mitzvah project I have chosen to partner with the Clarkstown Family Resource Center. 

The Clarkstown family Resource Center is a non-profit organization that helps families & students in the Clarkstown Central School District in many different ways. 

They help provide fun after school enrichment programs for students, parenting workshops and preschool playgroups to the entire school district.

Most importantly CFRC provides much needed help to needy students and families. CFRC does this through providing the needy families with supermarket gift cards so that they can provide food for their families. CFRC also provides clothing, coats, school supplies and so much more in assistance for these students. 

Since I was in pre-school my mother has always taught me to give back to my community and help people in need. I started helping the Clarkstown Family Resource Center when I was in Pre-school through projects in the Mitzvah Munchkins program at NCJC. I continued to help the CFRC all through elementary school with my brownie and girl scout troop. I participate each year to help families in need with clothing donations and I adopt a family to provide holiday gifts at holiday time. 

I never realized how many families in my community struggle to buy food in order to feed their families. Each month the CFRC hands out approximately 75 Shoprite gift cards to students in need. They work closely with the district student assistance counselors and other school staff to identify those families that would benefit from this monthly support. 

For my Mitzvah Project my goal is to collect enough money to allow the CFRC to deliver all of the gift cards needed for these families for an entire month. 

All of the money collected through this go-fund me will be donated to the CFRC to be used to purchase the shop rite cards.
