Empower Potential with Community Access Unlimited.
Put your money to work helping people with disabilities get to work!
Supporting meaningful employment is one of the many comprehensive services Community Access Unlimited provides for people with disabilities and at-risk youth.
In 2023, 42 youth with disabilities had new work experiences at local businesses through CAU’s paid internship program, which is supported by a grant from the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS). This year, the agency supported over 200 adults and youth in their career goals with employment services including job coaching, career planning and prevocational training.
Carlos, a youth from the internship program said, "Hard work pays off when you’re working for a goal to achieve; if you put in the effort, then things will go well for you as long as you are determined." The program instills hope in them for future possibilities, many interns secure permanent positions post-internship.
Eman is a member of CAU's Pathways to Academic and Career Exploration to Success (PACES) program. This initiative currently supports 89 youth and young adults aging out of foster care in their successful transition to continuing education, career technical education, and the workforce.
Eman's journey embodies the transformative power of your support. With the guidance of her PACES coach, Eman, 23, registered for graduate school for social work to advance her goals to counsel youth and families. Today, Eman is not only attending school but also holds a part-time position at a school child development center.
This fall, CAU launched the Culinary Program, which not only offers graduates the opportunity to hone their cooking skills, but also provides employment opportunities, such as working at our café or being employed in the community!
Rigoberto has been interning at a local retailer since August. He has been helping organize home décor as well as arts and craft supplies. Your donation to CAU helps us make a lasting impact on the lives of people with disabilities. Just ask Rigoberto…
“This is my first job and it gives me the experience of making sure to get to work on time and making sure everything gets done in a quick and organized manner,” Rigoberto said. "It gives me a lot of confidence to believe in myself. I can do just about anything I put my mind to.”
Donate today and become a champion of inclusive employment!
