Tidal Force is Concord High School’s very own FIRST Robotics Team. Our mission is to give students of Concord High School and the surrounding community the opportunity and experience of putting STEAM education into action by operating a business through the engineering design, development, and demonstration of a robot and inspiring others to value STEAM in their academics and daily life.
FIRST is an acronym for: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology and was founded by New Hampshire inventor Dean Kamen. His vision is…
“To Transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders.”
Dean Kamen, Founder
Our team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition, where students are tasked with building a competition-ready robot in just 6 weeks. Mentors from industry come and teach the students about the technical skills of the engineering design process as well as the soft skills of teamwork and cohesion. Tidal Force is a student driven organization. Students define yearly fundraising, recruitment, outreach, and technical goals, drive the work towards those goals, direct meetings, design the robot, build the robot, and ultimately compete with it at competition.
But FIRST is more than just the robot…
Tidal Force focuses on developing students and inspiring others in the greater community to solve complex problems the world faces today and will face tomorrow. Along with competing in FIRST Robotics Competition, Tidal Force works in the community.
We need your help to continue doing what we do - inspiring students of all ages. Every little bit counts, to help us get to the World Championship event, next season, and beyond. By donating to Tidal Force you help to create a new generation of problem solvers, innovators, and inventors.
From all of us at Tidal Force, we thank you for your donation.
