Support COPLINE: Midnight Run for Officers
This New Year’s Eve, the Topsfield Police Department and members of other local area departments will once again be running a 5K platoon-style run through The Town of Topsfield. This run will kick off right as the clock hits midnight. It will be an invaluable resource to Police Officers across the country: COPLINE.
Law enforcement officers face mental health calls every day, along with other tragedies. These calls happen whether in a large metropolitan area, or a small residential town. The cumulative effect can be a heavy load to carry over time. Tragically, with nowhere left to turn, officers succumb to substance abuse and even suicide. COPLINE has created an outlet for officers. COPLINE is a 24/7, 365 days a-year resource for Police Officers across the United States. COPLINE offers a free resource for officers struggling with a plethora of stressors ranging from traumatic calls, addictions, marital problems, PTSD, and depression. The goal of COPLINE is to reduce the buildup of these crucial moments by offering a voice, the voice of someone who has been in their position. COPLINE phones are answered by retired Police Officers from around the country. These retired officers lend an ear and advice to those who currently serve. Donations will be accepted through December 30th. All money will then be sent to COPLINE, and we will provide a donation total. With your help, we are hoping to raise $5,000.00 for this invaluable resource. Any donation is appreciated. Also, anyone who makes a donation of $50.00 or more is welcome to join in on this run.
In Solidarity,
Topsfield Police Department
