With a proven success rate of 96%, Crisis House has become a cornerstone of the San Diego community. As the issue of homelessness continues to grow in the region, the organization urgently requires additional support to expand its efforts and continue making a significant impact.

Hi everyone, my name is Makayla Banuelos and I am currently working with a nonprofit organization called Crisis House. Crisis House is dedicated to providing resources and services to those in need in East San Diego County. They focus on individuals who are struggling with housing insecurity, domestic violence, addiction, and essentially lack of access to necessary resources like food and housing.

Crisis House’s mission is to assist individuals in overcoming crises, prevent homelessness, and promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency. The organization serves as a vital resource in the San Diego community, helping to reduce the negative impacts of crisis situations and offering pathways to recovery and stability.

When I started my internship at Crisis House, I didn’t know how much it would change me. Seeing families rebuild their lives and kids smiling after receiving just a little kindness hit me. These aren’t just numbers or statistics; they are real people with real struggles who need us.

This Christmas, I want to do something that matters. I’m asking you to join me in helping them. Together, as a community, we can bring hope, warmth, and joy to those who truly need it. Let’s make a difference—one small act of kindness at a time.

My name is Carson and I am a senior at SDSU. For a semester project my class has been working on changing perception about homelessness in the San Diego. We are working with an amazing nonprofit organization called Crisis House. This organization is San Diego based and has been helping the community hands on for the past 50 years! They aim to help and support individuals who are struggling to overcome complex and challenging circumstances, including homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, health conditions, and lack of access to food and housing. At Crisis House, we offer 3 main categories of programs: Domestic Violence, Homeless Services, and Camp Hope Program
