Deerfield Historical Society Renovation Fund
The Deerfield Historical Society is at an exciting, yet critical time in our history. We have a wonderful opportunity to expand our space, and take over a portion of the old Village Hall. In order to make this space amazing and welcome to all, we are undergoing a significant renovation project to the 1st floor of 4 N. Main St.
Our plan:
- Remove the drop ceiling and expose the beautiful original tin ceiling.
- Replace the old office lighting with modern lighting to brighten the space and highlight our collection.
- Update the newly exposed ductwork to make it both aesthetic and functional.
- Remove the old office carpeting, and replace it with durable vinyl that will have an appropriate "wood" finish.
- Paint all the walls and window casings.
- Build and install shelving and displays for our collection.
This plan will come with great costs for materials and labor, on top of our already significant operating costs. Fortunately, we already have a couple of local skilled tradespeople donating their time to help.
As fellow community members, we humbly ask for any monetary assistance you can provide, to help Deerfield history remain alive and accessible.
