Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation, Inc.

Audrey was born with a rare bone marrow disorder called Diamond Blackfan Anemia. There are currently only a few treatments available for DBA patients. Transfusion therapy in which a patient must receive a blood transfusion every 3-5 weeks to live. Steroid therapy ( roughly 40% of patients respond) in which the patient must take prednisolone in order to make blood. The problem with steroids is that there are many bad side effects. The only other option is a bone marrow transplant which is very risky. We need a cure now. This GoFundMe page was built in order to raise money to find a cure for Diamond Blackfan Anemia. All money raised from thus GoFundMe page goes directly to the DBA Foundation to be used to fund research to find the cure.

Helping to find a cure for Diamond Blackfan Anemia is a passion of ours. We want our daughter Audrey to grow up happy, healthy and to live a long long life. We want her to be able to grow up without the constant need for medical intervention to keep her alive. We want her to grow up without constantly being poked with needles to draw or give blood.
