As eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo faces a growing Ebola threat, healthcare providers in Goma are working to protect patients and frontline staff under extraordinarily difficult conditions.
Jericho Road Wellness Clinic — a longtime Direct Relief partner — is preparing for increased demand while supporting the setup of an Ebola containment center in the region.
Direct Relief has prepared a $2.5 million shipment of emergency medical aid, including PPE, diagnostics, IV fluids, antibiotics, and supportive care medications requested directly by local providers.
The response comes as health systems in the region continue to face the compounded pressures of conflict, displacement, and limited medical resources.
