To support, promote and grow the sport of Ultimate in the metropolitan NY area. Purposes and Powers: Without regard to race, religion, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, color, age, disability, veteran status, national origin, or any other protected category, the purposes and powers of the Corporation may include: • To teach students at all levels of the public and private school systems, as well as home schooled students, how to play ultimate, including adherence to the current rules of the sport as endorsed by the NGO • To promote success in competition by providing support to ultimate teams active at all levels and in all divisions of competitive play, provided those competitions are sanctioned by the NGO or some other reputable governing body • To encourage the enjoyment of ultimate and the joy of playing by providing or supporting those organizations that provide opportunities for casual, recreational participation in organized, non-competitive games that are played outside of championship series or organized leagues • To promote social responsibility among the ultimate community by encouraging participation in and providing resources and support for charitable endeavors that involve, promote, or support the principles of the sport of ultimate. • To design and implement strategic and sustainable initiatives to identify, evaluate, and secure the use of athletic fields and other open spaces, whether public or private, suitable for playing ultimate games or competitions • To provide support for existing recreational and competitive ultimate leagues, provided they are managed by reputable organizations and are run in a manner that is consistent with the mission, purposes and powers of DiscNY, as determined by the Board of Directors
