We are a small team of 3 with an amazing community of volunteers- helping to run a lot of projects and programming for our community. At our size, your donation makes a large impact and right now are 100% tax deductible Projects supported by District Commons include:
Alternative Justices : Providing mediation and support circles in intentional communities.
Second Life : Providing housing, support circles and communities for formally incarcerated individuals including two community houses and weekly programming.
Some impact highlights from 2020:
- Created two intentional community houses by and for formerly incarcerated folks in San Francisco.
- Held weekly support circles and expanded them to include the in prison population.
- Supported over 50 groups of people through sexual assault and domestic violence situations.
- Held weekly lectures, transformation pods, and created resources for the broader community.
The impact you'll help us have in 2021:
- We are gearing up to launch a third second life house.
- Help us expand our work to support the unhoused and returning ICE detainees.
- Support us in expanding our ability to mediate alternative justice cases, and in creating content on learnings for our greater community.
- Help us expand our programming to include more resources for harm prevention in our community.
- Support our small staff in staying employed through District Commons so we don't lose critical institutional knowledge or capacity.
