A thermal drone can help save lives
Recently, we were able to locate and safely rescue an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s using a borrowed thermal drone. In the video, you can see her struggling, trapped in a mesquite bush. This was around 1 a.m., with temperatures in the 20s. She had left her home mid-afternoon, unprepared for the freezing conditions. Without the thermal drone, finding her in time would have been much more difficult.
Now, we’re hoping to purchase a thermal drone of our own so we can continue to save lives. As I write this, there are individuals stranded in the Organ Mountains. A thermal drone would make a significant difference in locating and rescuing them quickly.
Dona Ana County Search and Rescue is a volunteer team dedicated to finding and helping those in distress. We gladly donate our time, but we need your support to make our searches more effective. Your donation will directly contribute to life-saving efforts in our community.
Thank you for considering this urgent need. Together, we can make a difference and save lives.
Note: any funds raised and not used for a drone will be used for other equipment used in our Search and Rescue efforts.
