Sponsor a Local Family's Food Box for the Holiday

The holidays are a time for families and communities to come together. Dorcas Circle's provider for the food we distribute through our food bank, meaning we now need to pay for pretty much all of the food that we distribute. With Thanksgiving coming up, we want to make sure that the, on average, 250 families that we serve every month can have sufficient, quality food to enjoy with their families. Any contributions are welcome!

$40 will support the filling of one family's food box. If 250 people can afford $40 sponsor a family's food box, we can make sure every box is full for Thanksgiving. Can you buy a holiday meal for your neighbors this year?

Dorcas Cirlce in Walsenburg has been serving Huerfano County for over 30 years as both a food and clothing pantry supplying free food and clothing to those in need. This is the ONLY food bank and thrift store in all of Huerfano Counties - one of the poorest counties in Colorado.

To say the least, we’re in trouble. Our landlord is selling the building we’re in.

Currently, finding a different location with the room we need, with access for traffic, with the rent that Dorcas can afford, is unlikely.

We’re applying for a loan to purchase the building ourselves to stay open. We are also working on getting grants to reduce the cost. It’s a lot of money for a non-profit!

It’s a lot for anyone, but together we can save this valuable resource for our county and community.
