Orphanage needs help amid Covid-19 pandemic!
Unidos por Siempre needs your help!
Across the globe, peoples normal livelihoods have been thrown into disarray as the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have grown more deep and widespread. Unidos por Siempre orphanage is no exception. Located on the eastern outskirts of Tijuana, Mexico, UpS has provided a safe and nurturing home for countless young children in Tijuana dealing with difficult family situations. Maria Figueroa Torres, the orphanage director, has been a loving Madrina to these children since the orphanage was founded over a decade ago, but is largely reliant on the support of outside groups that visit the orphanage on a regular basis.
The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has caused a sharp dip in funds that Maria and Unidos por Siempre are in desperate need of to simply conduct their daily operations. In the absence of foreign groups coming to visit, she has had to scramble to come up with funds to pay for water and electricity, staff, and food. Additionally, two of the children at the orphanage recently fell ill with the flu, and were separated at a government medical facility due to coronavirus concerns.
The International Student Outreach Club of San Clemente High School has supported Maria and UpS for the past two and a half years now. We would greatly appreciate your generosity in lending a helping hand to this wonderful group of people in their time of need. All proceeds will go directly to Doxa, the non-profit organization who oversees support to Unidos por Siempre and whose funds Maria will have direct access to to purchase necessary essentials.
There is no amount too small in helping Unidos por Siempre to remain a warm home for children in Tijuana for years to come. Thank you for your kindness and generosity in this difficult time, and God bless you all!
