Help Save Dunnington Mansion! We Won't Have a Second Chance!
Welcome to The Dunnington Mansion Foundation's GoFundMe Campaign!
Finally, our foundation has the potential opportunity to acquire and save the iconic Dunnington Mansion (Poplar Hill) in Farmville, VA, but we need your support to make it happen. As a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to preserving our local heritage, we are thrilled at the prospect of restoring this historic gem and rehabilitating it into a multi-use event and community center.
We are launching a multi-wave campaign to raise funds for purchasing the property and starting the stabilization process. If we fail to raise the required funds, or do not raise them quickly enough, the fate of the mansion will likely fall to residential developers. Our goal is not only to save the
mansion, but to safeguard its history!
The Dunnington Mansion Foundation has waited three long years for this opportunity. We will not have a second chance at this offer – please don’t let it pass us by!
Thank you for being a champion of this important cause!! If you need to contact the foundation please use the contact page on our website listed below.

Why Support Us?
1. Historic Preservation: The Dunnington Mansion is a rare and significant piece of American history. Built in 4 stages, its construction spans 170 years of architectural elegance. Your support will ensure that this iconic landmark is preserved for future generations to appreciate and learn from, including a wide variety of historical viewpoints.
2. Cultural Heritage: Restoring the Dunnington Mansion is not just about saving a building; it's about safeguarding the stories, artistry, and traditions of all those who lived or worked at Poplar Hill. Your contribution will play a crucial role in promoting a deeper understanding of our history.
3. Economic Impact: The project will also stimulate the local economy by creating jobs during the restoration process and attracting visitors to the local area for years to come.
4. A Legacy of Giving: If we don't reach our fundraising goal, or the mansion is sold to developers before we raise enough funds, rest assured that your donation will still make a meaningful difference. Some will be applied to help stop the water damage and stabilize the structure. The remaining funds will be donated to three outstanding local nonprofits, each dedicated to impactful community work.
