Cash and his Diabetic Alert Dog, Luna
My son Cash is seven years old and a Type 1 Diabetic. Type 1 Diabetes is a disease that can affect children and adults, and does not have a cure. Daily life with Type 1 Diabetes is very hard, especially at seven years old. The constant highs and lows caused by the disease can be very scary. This is especially true during the night, when everyone is asleep, Cash’s sugar can suddenly drop causing him to lose consciousness. We are raising money to purchase him a Diabetic Alert dog. Cash has been paired with a dog named Luna. The two met and had an instant connection. Luna will be able to alert Cash before his glucose levels get out of normal range. Luna will be finishing her training in 9 months and during that time she will be scent trained, to learn and detect the smell of the chemical diabetes releases in his body when glucose levels are rising and dropping. Not only will Luna help us by keeping Cash safe during the night, but she will go out with him while he is doing normal kid activities like riding his bike and playing outside. Luna will be Cash’s special sidekick for life. We are asking for your help to offset the cost of this life saving Diabetic Alert dog. We are working with Dylans Dogs for Diabetes, so all donations will be tax deductible and a tax receipt can be given upon request.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Dylans Dogs For Diabetes, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
