Through teaching, training, and inspiration, we uplift and encourage our workforce to do their best as they complete fulfillment and light assembly jobs for companies throughout the Midwest. Professionalism in a safe and secure environment where all their needs are met. Handicapped accessible, with all the ramps and levers needed to facilitate their full motion and pace. All leading to their prized paycheck and a chance to excel at work.

Ike’s Gourmet Dog Treat Cookie Company is our own venture allowing us to control our destiny with the dream and desire to gain financial independence.

World Day of Giving: Tuesday, November 28, 2023

The Eisenhower IKE Center, founded in 1964 in Milwaukee, WI, is among the largest Vocational Rehabilitation Centers for Adults with Disabilities in the United States. The Center has grown to embody the opportunity for those told of their limits, to dream of new possibilities. To strive for both physical and financial independence through mentored training with the ability to work for a paycheck and a fuller life with meaning for themselves and the greater community.

The Center, spanning more than 70,000 sq. ft., offers a full range of light manufacturing services fulfilling the needs of a growing list of corporate partners. From labeling, packaging, and shipping to retooling, finishing, and baking, our staff oversees an eager crew of more than 100 Clients, Adults with Disabilities, who take tremendous pride in their work and the companies who entrust them.

Our Clients are taught, trained, and inspired by our caring staff who understand the potential of each individual. The needs of each Client are addressed from basic hygiene to more advanced physical, mental, and emotional issues. All within a safe and nurturing environment filled with an atmosphere of family love and happiness.

With great pride and an eye towards independence we have established our own venture: Ike's Gourmet – America’s Dog Treat Cookie Company. Our bakeries offer Vegan Grain-Free Dog Treats using the finest and freshest Natural Gluten-Free Ingredients while Creating Jobs for Adults with Disabilities. As a nonprofit, all our proceeds are reinvested into our Chefs, Adults with Disabilities at the IKE Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

With construction nearing completion, the purchase of Equipment is needed to finish our new handicap accessible Commercial Kitchen. This modern facility will enable our venture, Ike’s Gourmet - America’s Gourmet Dog Treat Cookie Company, to continue fulfilling orders, keeping pace with our sales success.

The IKE Center creates jobs for our community’s most vulnerable, adults with disabilities. Fulfillment work for local companies includes sorting, labeling, and packing. But the heart of our 70,000 sq. ft. Center is our bakery where Ike’s Gourmet was born. Owning our own venture enables us to control our future as we march toward independence.

After careful research from our nation’s top nutritional veterinarians, fruit, filled with vitamins and nutrients, was often missing from our dog’s diet. We took the top four fruits from their list and created our first collection:

• Apple Pie, Banana Bread, Blueberry Muffin and Pumpkin Pie

Our shortbread cookies are vegan, and grain-free using the finest and freshest natural gluten-free ingredients. National retailers are sharing our excitement for our original dog treats catering to new digestive and allergen issues, as well as the social justice of our cause.

A stream of orders has become a river and our capacity to produce and ship promptly has been pushed beyond our humble kitchen. The estimated costs for our Commercial Kitchen construction are $600,000, with an additional $400,000 for New Equipment, totaling $1,000,000.

As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our family of donors who share in our mission. Not only do our adults with disabilities receive a paycheck, but are taught how to deposit their checks, sign their names, and interact with tellers. Our teaching and training are ongoing, not just with vocational services, but social services as well. As we reach toward independence, we inspire our clients to reach toward independence as well.

The IKE Center has established itself as one of the leading vocational rehabilitation centers for adults with disabilities in the USA. Since 1971 we have opened our doors to hundreds of our community's most vulnerable, striving to teach, train, and inspire those who have been told of their limitations to reach beyond their limits. Our success has led our dedicated team to create our own venture, Ike’s Gourmet - Dog Treat Cookie Company, now the fastest-growing dog treat company in the Country.

Ike’s Gourmet dog treat cookies can be found on the shelves of America’s largest employee-owned grocery store chain, Hy-Vee, with more than 300 locations spanning eight states. QVC will soon begin filming our industrial baking facilities and chefs, adults with disabilities, to help launch the premiere of the first dog treat cookie company ever to air in front of their eager audience of 25 million. Five warehouses are being filled with product for tv and online sales as we will soon tell the story of the IKE Center and Ike’s Gourmet to the world.

The political ebb and flow of federal and state policy towards people with disabilities is exhausting. The push for a $15 minimum wage would wipe away the cherished 14-C provision protecting vocational rehabilitation centers such as ours. Financial independence would enable us to focus on our most treasured resource, our clients, who have found meaning in their lives and a supportive and caring family within our walls.

Now is the time to seize the moment as opportunity knocks on our door. Within our 65,000 sq. ft. facility, which we proudly own, we have the chance to create a handicap-accessible industrial kitchen enabling us to continue to grow as the avalanche of sales keeps us working around the clock to please our expanding list of customers. Even larger retailers wait in the wings for our daily production to reach levels needed to ship to warehouses nationwide.

Without a dollar allotted to advertising, we have made our mark on the retail marketplace and are well on our way to reaching our lofty sales goal of $1,000,000. But this can only be achieved with your assistance; your donations can keep this dream alive. Our production needs to double and then double again as orders continue to grow. Updated machinery and equipment are needed now to keep pace. Our dream is real and pressing. Your tax-deductible donation will be used immediately to keep the momentum flowing. Our March to Independence Campaign relies on you and your support to achieve what most thought impossible for us, to reach beyond our limits and thrive without the dictates of those who might not understand what is needed and what we provide. Financial independence would enable us to focus on our most treasured resource, our clients, who have found meaning in their lives and a supportive and caring family within our walls.

Within our 65,000 sq. ft. facility, which we proudly own, we have the chance to create a handicap-accessible commercial kitchen enabling us to continue to grow our sales. Even larger retailers have expressed interest in purchasing our dog treat cookies once our daily production increases to meet their minimum orders.
