Elk Country Animal Shelter

The Elk Country Animal Shelter is a small but powerful animal shelter in the northern town of Atlanta Michigan that needs your help. We opened in 2009 with a total transformation of an old carpet store into a beautiful animal shelter.  With all new equipment and mechanical's that we never thought would fail us 11 years later. Our building uses three big heat pumps that do our heating and cooling - one by one we lost the use of these most important units, the very last unit is still running but won't be for long as it works and then doesn't. 
We received several estimates to replace these units before winter hits us, the best we have is from a company called Bumler, we had to sit down or maybe we fell down when the complete cost is $45,000.00 
Our shelter is extremely important for our community, not only do we take in stray, homeless and/or needy animals in our community but offer spay/neuter, vaccinations, micro-chipping, food, grooming, nail trimming, boarding and anything else we think we can help with, even things we haven't thought of; helping our community care for their pets.
