Support Endo Black, Inc.: Empowering Black Women with Endometriosis
Endo Black, Inc. is a trailblazing, Black-women-led organization based in Oxon Hill, MD, dedicated to advocating for Black women impacted by and living with endometriosis. Since its inception in April 2019, and achieving nonprofit status in May 2021, Endo Black has been a beacon of hope, creating a safe space, fostering endo-sisterly love, and providing educational and enriching programs loaded with beneficial resources.
The Challenge
Black women with endometriosis face unique challenges. They are often misdiagnosed, lack adequate resources, and suffer from insufficient research on their specific experiences. Endo Black, Inc. is committed to addressing these issues, advocating for health equity, and making a profound difference in the lives of many women battling this painful condition. Our focus is on Black women aged 18 to 45, providing them with tailored support and resources that they can't find elsewhere.
Our Mission
Mission: Endo Black, Inc. is a Black-women-led nonprofit organization advocating for and educating Black women living with and impacted by endometriosis.
Our Programs
Period Care Initiative
The Period Care Initiative provides non-toxic period care items to domestic violence survivors and young girls within the Washington-Baltimore Region. In January 2023, we launched the Providing Items Now for Kids (P.I.N.K.) sub-initiative, supplying period care kits in public bathrooms and nurse stations for menstruating high school students.
Changing the Narrative
Our ambassador program focuses on risk factors, pain management, health equity, racial injustice, and women's reproductive health and wellness. Ambassadors engage with community members, foster new relationships, and actively participate in our various committees.
Health Equity and Racial Injustice Workshops
We offer workshops to educate medical professionals and others about the racial disparities in healthcare, particularly concerning Black women with endometriosis.
